Misses' Size 6-20
Included here are patterns for Jodhpurs, a sleeveless Vest (called a "Paddock Coat") and a Jacket adapted from original garments in the Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The classic Jodhpurs are cut very full from above the knee through the hips (flattering and forgiving whether you're full or narrow in that area). They feature a button fall-front and a back patch pocket with a button flap. The legs are snug below the knee and can be made to ankle or below-the-knee lengths
The Vest features front and back princess seams (for a flattering fit), a turned-back collar with notched lapels and a long, full skirt with a back vent and slash front pockets. The Jacket also has a turned-back collar with notched lapels and a long, full skirt with front patch pockets. A self-fabric belt fits loosely around the waist and fastens at the front with a single button. An inverted box pleat in the back adds detail. Both the Vest and the Jacket are unlined and softly tailored.
Suggested Fabrics: Suiting weight linen, gabardine or silk; lightweight wool and wool blends; heavyweight cotton twill. If your outer fabric is bulky, use a cotton lining fabric for Jodhpur facings.
