Originally the pattern was described as "Ladies' Five-Gored Skirt, with slightly high or regulation waistline, in round or shorter length, having an applied front panel, closed at the side-front or back with inverted plait or in habit style at the back; with or without the facing at the lower part." Minimal directions. Pattern dates circa 1910-1911.
Suggested fabrics: Linen, serge, suiting, corded or diagonal silk, shepherd's plaid, and silk and wool marquisette. The colors were deep blue, black, white, maize, shell pink, silver, brown, sulphur, apricot, champagne and tobacco.
