As a costumier this is one of the very few costumes I have not yet made so I was pleased to find this pattern and I have just prepared it ready to lay it out and check it over before I decide on material and colour. However, I would like to make the following observations.
1. The pattern is printed on paper which is very difficult to manage as it is so thick - UK patterns are printed on much thinner paper, so much easier to cut out, adjust and lay on fabric.
2. I am experienced needlewoman and pattern user, so I have "worked out" the piecing together of the costume but for an unexperienced beginner this pattern may well be daunting as there is minimal information on how to make the costume. More pictures and text on construction needed please to aid all levels of expertise.
However, I am looking forward to creating this dress, although I will be making a toile first just to make sure I've got it right!
