Paperback, 192 pgs. Edward Giles is one of those names that nearly anyone who is interested in tailoring will immediately recognize. His reputation is based primarily on this book, which has long been out of print. Other than this work, he was one of the co-authors of “The West-End System”, along with F. T. Prewett and several others. Prewett continued to revise that system and editions were published long after Gile’s death. Giles also published articles in the “West-End Gazette”. This particular edition was published by T. H. Holding, a well known tailor and author in his own right, as a memorial to Giles after his unexpected death. The “Publisher’s Preface” is dated 1896. The original edition was published jointly by Prewett in London and Mitchell in New York in 1887.
