I loved these shoes right out of the box! They really look correct for a late 1800's-early 1900's time period and they fit perfectly, which is unusual for shoes ordered online. They also seem to be quite well made. With nice leather and decent padding. I've worn them to a few everyday business meetings and they are quickly becoming my new favorites.
The laces are quite long, but that will probably be a good thing just in case they break in the future. For now, I just tuck them into the top after tying. I was a bit leary of purchasing a slick sole shoe, as I usually like a bit of tread, but the Howitzer sole is made from a nice tire-like material, which seems pretty grippy. They will probably be fine in the wet.
All in all, a great shoe and great value for the money. I'll probably buy another pair just to keep in reserve!
