XL Problematic

I'm a professional seamstress and costumer. I was so happy to find a larger sized historical pattern. However, this pattern has several problems. The proportions are off. The upsizing was not done to a real body. The sleeves don't fit the armholes which are way too small for a garment of this size. Then, there's the instructions which are illogical and entirely too minimal. I would not recommend this pattern to anyone who is not an extremely experienced sewer, or without the intended wearer available for fittings.

First and foremost, I got extraordinary customer service from Amazon Drygoods, making sure that the pattern was in stock and that I'd receive it in time to use it. On the other hand, I had so much hope for this pattern, but after sewing a muslin sample, it became clear that it's shape was not going to fit me. Before I gave up, I was able to track down the pattern designer, as the instructions were quite difficult to follow, but I ended up having a lovely chat with her to help answer my questions.

Loved this pattern and plan to make more than one. I had gotten the wrong size initially but with one phone call it was quickly and easily taken care of.
I only gave 4 stars because the instructions were difficult to follow. the final product was perfect and I received many compliments
