19th century Victorian replica sewing bird/pin cushion in heavy, solid, polished brass. This makes a third hand when you clamp it to a table and pinch your fabric in the bird's mouth. Depressing the tail releases the beak.

Needs a stronger hold

The bird is very cute and close the Victorian look. But, the clamp isn't very strong and fabric easily pulls out. I think it needs some padded reinforcement inside or something grippy, possibly even just a stronger clamp to be more than decorative.
